LaScam invite cinq auteurs ou autrices à participer à l’IDFAcademy. Candidatures ouvertes jusqu’au 1er août 2026.

La formation, les candidatures et l’ensemble des échanges sur place se déroulant exclusivement en anglais, un niveau courant et fluide est indispensable. Le texte ci-dessous est donc rédigé en anglais.

 

Taking place from November 12 to 15, 2026, in Amsterdam during IDFA, IDFAcademy is an intensive training program for emerging documentary filmmakers and producers, connecting them to a broad spectrum of highly esteemed documentary professionals willing to share their knowledge.

 

Program

Open to 100 people, the four-day program includes sessions such as Filmmaker Talks, Round table discussions, smaller sessions, and case studies, helping participants develop a broad view of the international documentary market and current trends.

Participants & Eligibility

LaScam invites* 5 authors working on their first or second feature film, who have proven their talent nationally and wish to develop their career internationally. Experienced filmmakers are not eligible.

Eligibility is restricted to recipients of one of the following: Brouillon d’un rêve grant, Étoiles de LaScam, LaScam Prize, Albert Londres Prize or Film Ton Quartier shortlisted.

Attention will be focused on motivation and learning objectives. Tell us which elements of the program you expect to benefit from, what topics interest you, and what kinds of professionals you’d like to learn from.

Please pay attention: while the program is not project-driven, participants must have a project in development during the four days. Only one author per project can apply. Having a producer is not required.

LaScam Bonus

Selected participants will attend a preparatory workshop with Claire DixsautThe art of the pitch in English — held in October, before IDFA. The workshop covers pitch methodology and includes a practice session.

If selected, you will also be asked to submit a complete project file in English in October. Prepare it in advance.
